The short-sleeved imperative

One of the things that I see many girls do that is a mistake when they purchase their prom dresses is to purchase dresses with the wrong length of sleeve — for example, some girls will purchase a prom dress that is sleeveless, in an attempt to wear something that will not be too warm on a summer evening — but they are living in an area where the weather may turn very cool at times. On the other hand, some girls who live in very warm climates will purchase prom dresses that have long, tight fitting sleeves — in an attempt, I guess, to appear more refined. All other things being equal, however, you should purchase a prom dress with sleeves that are appropriate for the general type of weather that you'll have at your location in the early summertime months.
